barlow: Okay, we'll start with Rebecca.
barlow: Watch how I deftly work her until we have all the information we need.
crystal: I'm watching.
rebecca: Oh, Barlow, I see you've met Crystal.
barlow: Yeah. We were just... uh, I'm showing her around town.
rebecca: Well, I don't want to keep you...
barlow: Actually, Rebecca... uh, she has some questions for you... about the town...
barlow: ....What with the bridge down....but this isn't about the bridge.... it's about... stuff. Questions about stuff.
rebecca: And why are you asking instead of her?
barlow: She's actually very, very shy.... yeah.
rebecca: She is not shy!
barlow: Because she... uh, lost her voice.
rebecca: Crystal?
crystal: I take no responsibility for his ravings.
barlow: Because... um, because this has nothing to do with the bridge!
crystal: I don't know him...
rebecca: Barlow Bean! You know perfectly well that I can see through any lie. Now let's stick to the truth. You want to ask me about the bridge.
barlow: Er... yes.
rebecca: Go ahead, then.
barlow: Where were YOU when it fell?
rebecca: I was right here.
barlow: Can you prove it?!
rebecca: Barlow, I was right here with you.
barlow: Oh. Right.
barlow: Where was Alex when the bridge fell?
rebecca: Why do you ask? You don't think it was... oh my! But he's been so good recently!
crystal: What does she mean by that?
barlow: Alex has been know to get carried away sometimes. He's really high-strung and he gets strange ideas about things...
rebecca: Barlow, you don't need to defend my son.
rebecca: If you must know, Crystal, Alex once tried to cut down the bridge.
barlow: It was a long time ago...
rebecca: It was last week.
crystal: Oh, well, case closed!
rebecca: Alas, I... uh, think he was here in the diner when the bridge fell.
barlow: Where was Turnip when the bridge fell?
rebecca: I think he was in the sheriff's office, stealing the map to those mammal traps.
barlow: Oh. I guess if he was committing one crime, he couldn't be committing another one at the same time.
rebecca: I suspect the sheriff LET him have that map.
barlow: Where was the sheriff when the bridge fell?
rebecca: I don't know, and I don't really care.
barlow: Don't care? I'm missing something here. Did you and the sheriff get into an argument?
rebecca: You know how he is. This whole business with the bridge and his policy of inaction led to a brief... discussion. I don't think he'll be back in here for a while.
barlow: So who do you think sabotaged the bridge?
rebecca: Sabotaged?! You really shouldn't say things like that! Now I understand you're upset about being stuck here a little longer, but I'm sure we'll work something out...
alex: If we hold our breath, they might not be able to see us!
crystal: They?
alex: The DEMONS! We are under attack. First, I had a dream that I was cutting down the bridge, and when I woke up there was a dead crow under my window, a very bad omen! Then the demon-detectors were going off, and then the bridge was cut down by demon or demons unknown.
rebecca: He really was with me when it fell.
barlow: Alex, where are you going with that... What is that?
alex: Barlow, it's come to the end! The big showdown! I just want you to know that I'll fight along side you to the end. To the end! I'm going to set up a lookout near the woods. We'll fight them with everything we have!
barlow: That doesn't explain what you have there...
alex: We have to look at this rationally... it may be necessary to destroy the town in order to save it!
barlow: What makes you so certain it's demons? Have you seen one?
alex: How can you NOT see them, Barlow?! You're the demon-hunter!
barlow: Alex, show me a demon.
alex: HER!
crystal: Me?
alex: You was there when the bridge went down. I'm sure you saw them!
crystal: Uh... do I humor him?
alex: Well, I can't just stand around and let our town be consumed. I've got to be proactive.
rebecca: Okay, I'll go find his medicine.
