crystal: Barlow thinks he can handle this situation by himself. Heh, he doesn't even know where to start.crystal: He should know that I can sense other evil creatures. I guess he's just too proud to ask me for help. He'll just have to do everything the hard way.
crystal: Well, evil creature, you're in this crypt. I must admit that I'm looking forward to meeting you. I bet we have a lot in common.
crystal: Hmmm... my demon senses tell me that you're in here somewhere...
crystal: Show yourself or feel my wrath!
annabelle: I'll come out, but it's not because of any threats. We zombies are not scared by anything.
crystal: Hey, come on out... I won't hurt you.
annabelle: Oh, so the demon has chosen to visit me...
crystal: Well, it looks like there's nobody down here... nope, nope.
annabelle: Hey, you can give that up. We zombies have no appreciation for that kind of sarcasm.
crystal: Too heavy for you?
annabelle: Hardly! It insults our intelligence, and since we're mindless creatures, that's really saying something!
annabelle: You're the one the humans call Crystal.
crystal: Correct. And your name?
annabelle: Silly demon. We zombies don't have names. Names are an remnant of a previous life. I have nothing, but a hunger for the brains of the living.
crystal: O-kay...
annabelle: Was that good? Is that how a zombie's supposed to act?
crystal: Fine, fine, but you need a name. Let's use the name you had before you were a zombie.
annabelle: Oh, alright. You can call me Annabelle.
crystal: Why are you here?
annabelle: Well, this crypt just seemed appealing. I don't know, it just felt like a cozy place for a zombie.
crystal: No, I mean why are you here in Spider Cliff?
annabelle: You brought me here. I was drifting around at the bottom of the marsh for a long, long time. I don't know how long, I was drifting in and out of consciousness.
annabelle: Then, I felt the tug of a powerful evil force... you. I woke up, came to the surface, and hid out in this crypt while making plans to attack the townspeople.
crystal: You seem very well-spoken for a zombie...
crystal: While I was growing up, we always had zombie servants. None of them seems as quick and intelligent as you are.
annabelle: Well, thanks. I guess I'm the lucky one...
annabelle: When an army of zombies is created, we're created one by one. The first zombie is always the quickest and most intelligent. Each successive zombie is as slow and stupid as the previous two combined.
annabelle: I think I might've been the first of the series.
crystal: This town doesn't care much for zombies.
annabelle: That's okay... I don't care much for this town. Even before I died, I hated Spider Cliff.
crystal: Does this have anything to do with a war between the town and the circus?
annabelle: It was more like a massacre. But all of that was part of my previous life. I have no feelings of revenge... I just have a hunger for brains.
crystal: So you set that trap for Barlow?
annabelle: Trap? Oh, you must mean the spear in the candy cabinet. Yeah, that was mine.
annabelle: I thought that using a trap would be the safest way to get rid of the demon-hunter.
crystal: Why are you trying to kill Barlow?
annabelle: Why wouldn't I? He's the demon-hunter, so I need to get him out of the picture first. Logically, he's my most dangerous adversary.
crystal: "Dangerous adversary" are the last words I'd use to describe Barlow. Your trap didn't kill him, by the way.
annabelle: Rats. I'm rather new at this zombie thing. I wasn't fully awake until quite recently, and I've yet to catch and eat a victim. All I know is that I'm supposed to be eating brains. It all sounds disgusting, but I guess I've gotta do it.
crystal: Oh, it isn't all that bad. Tastes kind of like lamb.
annabelle: Well, I wouldn't know. In life, I was a vegetarian.
crystal: I'd like you to stop trying to kill Barlow.
annabelle: Oh! Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize he was your prey.
crystal: Well... yeah, it's something like that...
annabelle: Okay. I'll take his friends, then.
crystal: Actually, I'd prefer that you didn't kill any of them.
annabelle: I don't understand... demons and zombies are supposed to consume humans. This doesn't make any sense... my entire existence depends on killing and consuming the living...
crystal: I know might be confusing to you...
annabelle: Why can't I kill them?! I need a reason!
crystal: Let the humans live, or else!
annabelle: What?! You can't be serious!
annabelle: You're making a little joke, telling me not to kill them...
crystal: This is no joke. I'm serious.
annabelle: This is wrong! My only purpose in existing is to kill and eat the living! Why exactly do I need to let them live?!
crystal: Zombies must obey demons! It's rule!
annabelle: I understand. It was your presence that brought me from my marshy grave. We zombies must abide by the wishes of stronger and more evil things.
annabelle: But you know that zombies need to eat human brains... and I'm getting SO hungry already.
crystal: Zombie, you are forbidden to eat any of the people in Spider Cliff.
annabelle: O... Okay...
crystal: And that includes the girl camping out in the marsh.
annabelle: Oh. Rats.
annabelle: You do know what happens when a zombie doesn't feed, don't you?
crystal: I know, I know. If you don't eat brains regularly, you'll lose whatever intelligence and self-control you have.
crystal: We'll find some way to solve this.
crystal: Maybe we can find something else for you to do...
annabelle: But if I don't kill humans, where am I going to get brains? I NEED brains... it's an unquenchable hungry...
crystal: Well... you said that in life you were a vegetarian. Maybe we can find some kind of soy-based brain replacement.
annabelle: Well, I'm willing to try not to kill people, but I DO need to eat... or else...
crystal: I know, I know. If you don't eat brains regularly, you'll lose whatever intelligence and self-control you have.
crystal: We'll find some way to solve this.
