Transcript of this chapter:

sheriff: Alright, Barlow. I know this isn't a pleasant situation, but time has run out. Our defenses are down, and your demon friend is bound to attract something nasty quite soon.
barlow: This... this is all happening so fast.
rebecca: The sheriff is right, Barlow. A decision needs to be made.
barlow: Some decision.
barlow: Okay, I accept my responsibility. I just don't like it.
rebecca: Hey, that's the first step to growing up.
barlow: I can't do it! I still think there's time to find the urn.
sheriff: Then we're all as good as dead. You need to-
rebecca: No. Let Barlow do what he thinks is best. He'll make the right decision.
barlow: Did we really expend all other options? I don't want to rush into this...
sheriff: Alex and I thoroughly searched that house you and the demon live in. Top to bottom. The urn was not found.
barlow: But why search just there? It could be anywhere in town.
sheriff: There just wasn't time. The demon's room was my best guess.
barlow: Why were you so sure it was Crystal?
sheriff: This is a serious crime. No one else in town would even consider it.
barlow: Well, SOMEONE certainly had a motive.
sheriff: Who?
barlow: I dunno. Someone.
sheriff: Well, it's a good thing you don't solve mysteries for a living.
rebecca: Okay, Barlow. Do what you need to do.
alex: Hey, Barlow, it's getting late.
barlow: Okay, okay...
alex: I'm just saying you need to do it. You gotta kill her. It's now or never.
barlow: Yeah, Yeah, I know... you don't need to be so smug about it.
alex: It's a simple fact, Barlow... demons do not belong in Spider Cliff.
alex: You'll feel better about this when it's done. It's really no big deal to kill a demon.
barlow: I don't think she's responsible.
alex: Does it matter? The urn is missing, which means the town is vulnerable.
alex: You've got to kill her off. You know it. She knows it. Everyone knows it.
alex: Why can't you just do it? What's holding you back?
barlow: And I'm to believe that you had nothing to do with this?
alex: I would never do anything to put the town in danger.
barlow: Something is fishy here. You and the sheriff spend the entire day searching one building.
alex: I suggested it might be the best place to look. Obviously it was a waste of time.
barlow: I know that look, Alex. You're trying to do something clever. There's a reason you wanted to stay in my house and keep me and Crystal away. And yet you somehow knew the urn wouldn't be there.
alex: True enough. It's what's not in your house that's important. I needed to force your hand, waste time so you'd HAVE to kill the demon.
turnip: Hey, Barlow, where are you heading?
barlow: Turnip, you know darn well what I need to do.
turnip: Yeah. She's over by the edge of town right now. She's pretty upset about the whole situation.
barlow: How do you think I feel?
turnip: Well, what are you going to do?
barlow: What else can I do? I've got to kill her.
turnip: Well... if it's for the best...
barlow: I just feel that... if it didn't happen this way... I dunno, maybe there could've been something...
barlow: Oh, never mind.
turnip: She's going to put up a fight.
barlow: Yeah, I would expect as much. I'm on my way home to pick up some weapons.
turnip: Well, good luck, then.
barlow: There's still some time before sunset.
turnip: Barlow, you don't expect to find the urn in the next ten minutes, do you?
barlow: I can only try.
turnip: And if you don't?
barlow: Well, I'd better stop by at my room to pick up some weapons. I just hope I don't need to use them.
barlow: I think Alex has something to do with this.
turnip: What makes you say that?
barlow: It's the way he was talking just now. It's like he wants to tell me how clever he was. I don't quite catch it, but I get the impression that he said too much.
turnip: When the pawn steps out too far, the entire defense can be lost.
barlow: I need to go back to my house. There's something there that's important.
