barlow: How'd it go with the Sheriff?
crystal: Like talking to a wall. Oh he's hiding something alright.
barlow: What makes you say that?
crystal: I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were there when I interviewed him...
crystal: ....oh, that's right, you weren't.
barlow: But did you get any leads?
crystal: I learned how I can destroy the town...
crystal: ....er, if I was interested in doing so... which I'm, uh, not...
barlow: Ooh-kay...
crystal: Yeah, I've got a lead to follow, but... I'm not really sure if it's important enough to talk about...
barlow: Yeah, Same with me. I've got something to look into down in the storage areas... but it's not... oh, never mind.
crystal: So how did your talk with Rebecca go?
barlow: Oh, uh... she said some stuff. No big breakthrough or anything... just... uh, nothing...
barlow: Oh, right. She said you can move into the attic above my apartment. It's in a building she owns just up the street.
crystal: You're going to tell me what you're hiding, or else!
barlow: Hiding? You can't be serious. What would I possibly hide from you?
crystal: Don't start with me, buddy! This partnership relies on complete honesty!
barlow: Yes, honesty from you, too.
crystal: Right... er, what makes you think I'm hiding something? I'm not hiding anything from you. Why would I do that? Have you been spying on me? What do you know? When did you figure it out?!
barlow: Okay, Crystal has gone out of her mind...
crystal: I withdraw the question!
crystal: Come on, it's me... Crystal. You can tell me what's on your mind.
barlow: Well, it's just that...
barlow: Wait a minute! I don't even know you very well!
crystal: But you could. We ARE going to be neighbors...
barlow: You're acting very suspiciously.
crystal: Yeah? Well, that makes two of us!
barlow: I'm sorry, I guess I've never really talked to a girl my age who was interested...
crystal: Oh, just drop it!
crystal: Why do you want me to stay in the same building with you?!
barlow: That's assuming that I care in some way, which I don't.
crystal: Oh, that's it, is it? Put Crystal somewhere that Barlow can keep an eye on her!
barlow: Why are you afraid of living so close to me?
crystal: Because it's only a matter of time before you figure out-
crystal: ....never mind.
barlow: Finish what you were saying...
crystal: I.. uh, let's see... Oh! I, uh, I sleepwalk.
barlow: Well, I'll just leave my door unlocked then.
crystal: Yeah, well I need to go move my stuff now.
barlow: Okay. By the way, where IS all your stuff?
crystal: My stuff...
crystal: The same building with you? That sounds interesting...
barlow: Interesting?! It's a nuisance! My room is my refuge from the world. I like peace and quiet, but am I going to get it? NO! I'll get to hear you stomping around on my ceiling all the time.
crystal: Well you're just going to have to live with it!
barlow: Fine. Don't expect me to help you move in.
barlow: By the way, where IS your stuff?
crystal: My stuff...
crystal: I only live with the clothes on my back.
barlow: Gross.
crystal: It was supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
crystal: Alas, it fell into the chasm when the bridge collapsed.
barlow: That's too bad. But don't let it get you down, we'll catch whoever destroyed the bridge! I think we should follow our leads.
crystal: Could our saboteur be someone we don't know? Maybe someone who got away in another way?
barlow: The bridge was the only way in or out of town. Spider Cliff is blocked in by a marsh and the Smoggy Woods. Both are dangerous, and completely impassible.
crystal: So you think we should split up again?
crystal: Tell me about the Smoggy Woods.
barlow: They almost completely surround us. The trees look like ordinary trees, but something out there gives off a thick murky fog that smells like burning sulphur.
crystal: Charming.
barlow: You can go right up to the edge of the wood and maybe a little ways into it, but anyone who loses sight of Spider Cliff... is never seen again.
crystal: Right, so the woods are off-limits.
crystal: Tell me about the marsh.
barlow: There's not much to tell. It's were the paper mammals live. It's a pretty dangerous place for humans... one false step and we'll be sucked to the bottom. I'm actually the only person who can traverse the marsh, but there's places that even I can't cross.
barlow: Okay. I'm going to go follow my lead. We'll meet later and compare notes.
crystal: Gotcha.
crystal: Barlow, I wonder why you're in such a hurry to get away from me. What is it you're looking for?
